Indonesian port operator Pelindo 3 has ordered five Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour cranes, three 100 tonne Model 4 and two 125 tonne Model 5 cranes.
The Model 4 can take its 100 tonne maximum capacity to 46 metres radius, with a maximum lifting speed of 100 metres a minute. The Model 5 can take its 125 tonnes capacity to 51 metres radius, and has a maximum lifting speed of 125 metres a minute. The cranes are scheduled for delivery in summer of 2018 and will be sent to the company's Jamrud Terminal in Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, East Java.
Konecranes regional director Mike Green said: “We are very pleased that Pelindo 3 sees Konecranes technology as the backbone of their diversified fleet of cargo handling equipment. Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour cranes, operated throughout Indonesia, have shown excellent productivity and reliability. With an external power feed to hook them up to the terminal’s grid, these electrically powered cranes will help the customer to reduce costs and its carbon footprint significantly in the long term.”
