UK sales and rental company Delden Cranes has taken delivery of four 60 tonne Tadano GTC-600 telescopic crawler cranes, the first to be delivered in Europe.
The GTC-600 features a 36 metre main boom and a 17.7 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, giving it a maximum tip height of 55.5 metres. The GTC-600 also comes with main and auxiliary winches and Tadano’s Opti-Width system as standard, which allows a wide variety of track extensions, including asymmetric track positioning, automatically calculating a load chart for the actual configuration selected through Tadano’s AML-C Rated Capacity Indicator.
All four machines have gone straight out on contracts across the UK. One is on piling duties at London’s Euston Station as part of its expansion for HS2, another is performing general lifting duties on a power project in the North East, while the other two are in the south west and Wales respectively, performing piling duties on road work expansion projects.
Managing director Sean Nyland said: “The four Tadano GTC-600 telescopic boom crawler cranes are an excellent addition to our fleet. We’ve seen growing demand from our customers for an alternative to the 50 tonne capacity lattice boom crawler, especially in urban areas where there’s no room to rig anything, and the GTC-600 fits the bill perfectly. It’s particularly suitable for piling works, especially in the high rise and road sectors, but it also has the benefit of being a great pick and carry machine too, which means we’ve had no trouble getting work for all four machines since they arrived.”
“The Tadano GTC-600 telescopic boom crawler crane is packed with features, and I am excited by the reaction of our customers to this new addition to our fleet. And if the last couple of months are anything to go by, I look forward to seeing these machines continue to work on some of the UK’s most exciting construction projects.”
Established in 1975, Delden Cranes is based in Pinxton, Nottinghamshire, and runs a fleet of crawler cranes topped by a 300 tonne Liebherr LR1300. The company also provides spare parts and attachments for crawler cranes.
