Ahern International has officially opened its new facility in Tigre, Argentina on the north side of Buenos Aires.
The company moved in earlier this year, but have now completed the move and launched it with a grand opening ceremony attended by around 100 guests. The second Ahern location in South America, it is the company’s eighth Ahern distribution business globally, joining operations in Australia, Canada, Chile, Germany, Spain, Ireland and Japan. All of them provide sales, service and spare parts for Xtreme Manufacturing telehandlers, Snorkel aerial lifts and Ruthmann Bluelift spider lifts.
The new facility is located on a 5,000 square metre plot, and includes three buildings covering 2,000 square metres, with a showroom, offices, spare parts warehouse, workshops for pre-delivery inspections, repairs and rebuilds and warehousing for new equipment.
The new operation will be overseen by vice president Latin America Brody McFarland, with a team of six, comprising three sales representatives Andrés Mendonça, Juan Pablo Coli and Adrian Ojeda, technical manager Martin Calvo, service technician Andres Elizondo and customer service representative Gerardo Moscoloni.
McFarland said: “Following the success of our Ahern Chile location that was opened in 2015, Argentina was the natural next step for us in terms of customer demand. We are tremendously grateful for the continued, kind support we have received from our customers in this territory and hope that this investment will help us to exceed their expectations further.”
Xtreme Manufacturing/Snorkel chief executive Matthew Elvin added: “We are very excited to be setting down roots in Argentina, where we have a well established and loyal customer base already. This investment is for the long term, with the goal of helping our customers to be even more successful, through the immediate availability of new machines and spare parts, as well as fast access to technical support. I would like to thank Brody and the team for their efforts in setting up Ahern Argentina and this wonderful facility.”
