The chief executive of US based Empire Crane Company, Luke Lonergan will participate in Swim Across America to raise money for cancer research.
On 9th November Lonergan will be one of a group of people swimming at the YMCA in downtown Syracuse, New York. Lonergan says he is very active and most recently completed the Lake Placid Ironman Triathalon in July, and swims regularly with the Syracuse Riptide Masters team. His goal is to raise $10,000 for cancer research, prevention and treatment.
Swim Across America was established in 1987 by Jeff Keith and Matt Vossler, and supports a number of cancer research facilities and holds multiple events all year long across the country.

Lonergan said: “Everyone I know has been affected by cancer in one way or another, whether they’ve had to fight it themselves, or watch a parent, sibling, daughter, son, friend, or co-worker, battle for their life.”
