Following the launch of the new Demag AC450-7 All Terrain, German crane rental company Wiesbauer has officially confirmed its order for the first unit, having signed a 'letter of intent' on a napkin at a restaurant in September 2019.
The new seven axle crane features an 80 metre main boom, has an overall carrier length of just under 16 metres with an travel length of 17.62 metres with an outrigger spread of 8.45 metres. The company claims the AC 450-7 fits in the six axle class in terms of dimensions, but is ‘considerably superior’ to other seven axle models.
Wiesbauer general manager Thomas Wiesbauer, said: “The 450-7 fills a niche that has not been served yet, it is quite clear that the AC 450-7 didn’t just look good on paper, but in real life too.”
Based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, southern Germany, Wiesbauer was established in 1958 and operates from locations in Neckarsulm, Stuttgart, Schwaikheim and Plankstadt.
We will follow up with a full review of the AC 450-7 in the next issue of Cranes & Access but in the meantime you can read the latest All Terrain crane feature here:
