Antwerp Container Terminal (ACOT), part of the SEA-invest group, has ordered a further two Liebherr ship to shore cranes after taking delivery of the same model last year.
The new cranes offer an outreach of 60 metres, a span of 30 metres and a back reach of 25 metres. They have a maximum capacity of 65 tonnes and can handle up 22 containers across. Once delivered, the cranes will be installed on a 900 metre long deep-water berth, allowing it to handle super-postpanamax vessels.
David Griffin, Liebherr Container Cranes managing director of sales, said: “As SEA-invest grows and develops in container handling, Liebherr is pleased to be able to continue the journey with them. SEA-invest has counted on Liebherr for their stevedoring operations and are accustomed to the quality, reliability and productivity that Liebherr cranes can bring.”
SEA-invest is one of the world’s largest terminal operators with 25 ports throughout two continents. In 2016, the group purchased the container terminal from Independent Marine Terminal which it later renamed Antwerp Container Terminal.
